There will be a lot of details to take care of in the weeks before your wedding. High on the list will be obtaining your Marriage License. Since both the bride and groom to be must appear, it often requires advance planning for time off of work. In Pennsylvania, you should first contact your County’s Register of Wills or Clerk of Court to see what their hours of operation are, if they require an appointment and what documents you will need to bring with you. It is recommended that you apply for the Marriage License 2 to 3 weeks in advance of the wedding. A Marriage License in Pennsylvania is valid for 60 days. Once the Marriage License is in your hands, it’s smooth sailing down the aisle for a lifetime of love sealed with a kiss!
